Sex Party regains party status

THE AUSTRALIAN Electoral Commission has approved the Australian Sex Party’s application for party status.
The Sex Party lost its registration in May as it failed to meet the minimum number of members required to be considered a party by the AEC. You can read more on that by clicking here.
The AEC today announced the group’s application to become a party had been successful.

Benjamin Staggard stood in McMillan as a Sex Party candidate in 2013. The party has not stood for election in local state or federal seats before or since.
The Sex Party lost its registration shortly after the Australian Democrats did.
The Democrats have stated they are working on regaining their registration.
