THE BUREAU of Meteorology has launched a mobile website designed to make finding weather forecasts on the go easier.
The new website, accessible at m.bom.gov.au, gives smartphone users access to local weather reports, warnings, temperature and wind predictions, rainfall forecasts and the bureau’s rain radar.
The website can detect a user’s location to offer local weather predictions, and a search tool gives users access to all Australian forecasts.

Favourite forecast locations can be set up for quick access.
Development of the mobile site began in response to the bureau’s web forecasts largely being accessed via mobile phones.
The creation of a mobile app is being considered by the bureau.
Marine forecasts are not accessible via the mobile website.
